Cheek augmentation

Cheek augmentation is the targeted addition of volume over the cheekbones. The aim is to replace lost fullness in the midface or to accentuate its contours.

Application

A filler based on hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxylapatite is usually placed deep on the bone or within the fat layer. A supported midface gently lifts the surrounding tissue and can indirectly soften nasolabial folds and the tear trough. The goal is a harmonious ogee curve, a soft sweep from the lower eyelid over the cheek.

Good to know

The treatment takes about half an hour, and swelling or bruising usually settles within a few days. Results last roughly one to two years depending on the product. Too much volume can make the face look unnaturally wide. Permanent alternatives include fat transfer or surgical cheek implants.
