No. In Switzerland you can go directly to a dermatology practice. The exception are family doctor and HMO insurance models: depending on your contract, your insurer first requires you to contact your designated first point of contact. A look at your policy will clarify this; if in doubt, we can check it together.
Medically indicated services – such as skin cancer screening when there is a risk profile, the assessment of skin changes or the treatment of atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne and allergies – are billed via basic insurance. Your deductible and co-payment apply. You pay for purely aesthetic treatments without a medical reason yourself. We assess your concern before treatment so there are no surprises.
