Wrinkle treatment in Zurich

Beautiful skin is a sign of a happy, contented life. Wrinkles and fine lines are caused by the ageing process. As long as laughter lines and wrinkles around your eyes or on your forehead don’t bother you, there’s no need to do anything about them. But it’s a different story when you catch sight of yourself in the mirror looking older and more tired than you feel.

Wrinkle treatment is one of the key areas that Swiss Derma Clinic specializes in. Emphasis is on preserving the natural radiance of the skin. Rather than addressing individual wrinkles, our specialist Dr Evangelia Georgouli considers the face as a whole and its individual proportions.

To achieve optimal results, different procedures are sometimes combined, such as muscle relaxants for dynamic wrinkles (caused by tense muscles), filler for static wrinkles (brought about by sagging skin), and laser treatment, which is mainly employed for fine skin wrinkles. Only the safest, most advanced and reliable procedures and preparations are used.

Faltenbehandlung in Zürich

What is wrinkle treatment without surgery?

Unlike surgical lifting, wrinkles can also be reduced or completely removed with minimally invasive methods. These methods are not only much gentler, they can be performed on an outpatient basis - usually you can go about your daily activities immediately afterwards. Targeted medical aesthetic wrinkle treatments achieve similarly good results as a surgical facelift, in many cases even better.

At the Swiss Derma Clinic we perform medical wrinkle treatments with high-quality hyaluronic acid filler, with Botulinumtoxin, as a thread lift, as a PRP plasma and vampire lift, as a liquid facelift and as a laser treatment. Depending on the skin condition and wrinkle expression, mesotherapy, microneedling or a combined application of ultrasound and intensive peeling are also an option. A combination treatment can additionally improve the skin's appearance and prolong the effects by injecting fillers. The same applies to special cosmetic treatments that we perform in our practice.

For which wrinkles is aesthetic wrinkle treatment suitable?

We can apply the wrinkle treatment to the entire face and facial contour or to specific areas, such as the eye area or chin. In a detailed preliminary consultation, we take a close look at your face and skin structure and discuss the next steps with you. Often, even minimal procedures can have a major effect. For example, a small injection in the corners of the mouth can result in a significantly softer and more positive facial expression.

Another possibility is face tuning. Here we place anchor points in the form of small hyaluron deposits in various places such as on the cheekbone, in the area of the nasolabial folds or in the chin area. The entire facial contour is thus finely defined and gently smoothed.

Which wrinkle treatment (method) is right for me?

Which method is right for you depends on your individual skin condition and which wrinkles are particularly pronounced. For example, the muscle relaxant botulinum toxin is suitable for wrinkles caused by muscle tension (around the eyes and forehead) and fillers with hyaluronic acid for deeper and static wrinkles. Lasers can also be used to treat larger areas of skin with fine wrinkles.

With face tuning or a thread lift, the entire facial contour can be "redrawn". Sagging areas of skin are slightly lifted - the facial contours appear more prominent and defined. Sagging areas, for example in the cheeks, can be tightened and small wrinkles smoothed. It often makes sense to combine different methods to achieve long-lasting and natural results. At the Swiss Derma Clinic, we will advise you in detail and, if you wish, create an individual treatment concept for you.

How does wrinkle treatment with Botulinumtoxin work?

Botulinum toxin is a natural muscle relaxant. Botulinum toxin therapy is minimally invasive and has excellent effects, especially on wrinkles caused by increased muscle contraction. Cramps and tension in the affected facial muscles are gently released - resulting in the wrinkles being smoothed out. Typical applications of botulinum toxin include frown lines, forehead wrinkles (frown lines) and wrinkles around the side of the eyes. Important: Natural facial expressions are not altered by professional and careful treatment with botulinum toxin!

The "frozen faces" described in the past were the result of excessive use of this substance. Today's professional results are a natural softening, relaxed, softer and smoother facial features. Depending on the treatment area, wrinkle treatment with botulinum toxin can be combined with hyaluronic fillers.

What are the effects of wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid binds moisture in the skin like hardly any other substance. The skin becomes visibly firm, smooth and plumped up. Even pronounced wrinkles can be treated well with hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is also suitable for a gentle lifting of the facial contour and to emphasise certain areas.

When does wrinkle treatment with laser make sense?

Laser treatment is suitable for large-area and fine wrinkles, for example in the cheek area, on the neck or on the décolleté. As a combination treatment, we also use the laser for wrinkles and large-pored skin on the chin and in the area of the nasolabial folds. For optimal results, you usually need several applications. The laser treatment supports the collagen production of the skin and can be optimally complemented by a plumping wrinkle injection with hyaluron filler. At the Swiss Derma Clinic we also use laser treatment for acne scars, increased hair growth, dilated veins or age spots.

When to start wrinkle treatment?

Wrinkle treatment is possible even before the appearance of pronounced wrinkles. In aesthetic medicine we have various possibilities to counteract the formation of wrinkles at an early stage. The possibilities range from cosmetic intensive peeling to ultrasound treatment to collagen-stimulating treatments such as mesotherapy. These treatments can delay skin ageing - small wrinkles and slightly atrophic areas of skin are gently plumped up and supplied with moisture, vitamins and active ingredients. Liquid facelifting with hyaluron filler is also suitable for treatment of receding chins, an asymmetrical chin line and cheeks that are too flat or sunken in, regardless of age. Nasolabial wrinkles or the so-called marionette wrinkles already occur at a young age and often have anatomical causes: Wrinkle treatment can correct them discreetly and aesthetically.

Which wrinkle treatment lasts the longest?

How long a wrinkle treatment lasts depends on the individual constitution, lifestyle and skin structure. Wrinkle treatments with fillers (hyaluronic acid) last between six and twelve months on average. Longer periods are quite possible. Injections with botulinumtoxin last about five to eight months. By combining different methods, the result can sometimes last much longer. Aesthetic-cosmetic treatments such as needling or ultrasound application, in which concentrated active ingredients are infiltrated into the skin barrier, can also prolong the results and improve the skin's appearance in the long term.

With up to two years, thread lifting lasts particularly long. However, this depends on the connective tissue, the individual metabolism and the thread material.

Which wrinkle treatment for the chin?

Chin wrinkles can affect pronounced wrinkles at the corners of the mouth, an intensive chin furrow (transverse wrinkle) and the so-called marionette lines or the entire skin structure (cobblestone pattern) in the chin area. Injections with hyaluronic fillers are one of the most common techniques. Additional microneedling or a fruit acid peel are also recommended for very coarse skin structures. Laser treatment can also be an alternative for large wrinkles. We will inform you in our consultation about what is right for you in each individual case.

What are the costs for wrinkle treatment?

The costs depend on the type of wrinkle treatment and start at CHF 300 or CHF 500 for wrinkle injections with filler or botulinumtoxin. These prices refer to a specific facial region and may vary in individual cases. If several regions are treated or applications are combined, the costs will increase accordingly. For purely cosmetic wrinkle treatments, such as ultrasound treatment, the prices are significantly lower. At the Swiss Derma Clinic we will advise you in detail about the individual treatment options and provide you with an individual calculation.
