When does liposuction make sense?
Fat distribution is largely genetically determined, this is medically proven. Liposuction can be useful if the proportions are not balanced, or if residual areas remain after pregnancy and weight loss that do not regress.
Liposuction is not suitable for obesity or very loose skin.
At the Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich, we use the tumescent technique: a special fluid is introduced into the tissue to dissolve the fatty tissue and at the same time reduce the tendency to bleed. The fat is suctioned out via fine cannulas. The procedure is tried and tested in aesthetic medicine.
Bodycontouring
Body contouring is all about a more defined waist or hip line, a harmonious arm shape or aesthetically shaped thighs. It is often small corrections that make a big difference.
Combination with autologous fat (lipofilling)
The liposuctioned fat can be "reused" elsewhere after appropriate preparation. This method is called autologous fat transplantation or lipofilling.
The fat can be used to increase breast volume, correct the hip area, treat wrinkles, add volume to the décolleté or hands and improve skin quality.
Part of the transplanted fat is broken down by the body, the remaining part is permanently integrated into the tissue.
The attending specialist at the Swiss Derma Clinic
Liposuction is performed by Dr. med. (I) Nunzioluca Chianese, FMH specialist in plastic surgery with many years of experience and a specialization in aesthetic body surgery.
Compression and healing process
Compression garments must be worn for four to six weeks after liposuction. The compression helps the skin to contract, reduces swelling, stabilizes the newly sculpted tissue and prevents fluid accumulation.
Treatment regions
Liposuction on legs and buttocks
Circular and radical liposuction is frequently performed on the legs and buttocks. For slimmer thighs (also for saddlebags), aesthetic knees and defined lower legs.
Liposuction on the arms
For strong upper arms, "angled arms", fat deposits on the forearms, for harmonious transitions between the forearm and wrist and towards the shoulder and back.
Liposuction on the abdomen
Liposuction in the abdominal area, also as part of body contouring.
Liposuction on the back
For a smoother back, also in the side area towards the chest and stomach.
