Prejuvenation

Prejuvenation describes preventive measures intended to slow skin ageing before pronounced wrinkles or volume loss become visible. The term blends “prevention” and “rejuvenation” and usually refers to people between their mid-twenties and late thirties.

Application

The foundation is consistent sun protection, a suitable skincare routine with active ingredients such as retinoids and a healthy lifestyle. Gentle aesthetic treatments may be added, for example low-dose botulinum toxin, skin boosters or microneedling. The aim is to preserve the skin’s natural quality and stop expression lines from becoming deeply etched.

Good to know

Prejuvenation is closely linked to the concept of skin longevity. Whether preventive injections influence the ageing process in the long term has not been conclusively proven. What is undisputed is the benefit of protecting the skin from UV radiation. Treatments should be dosed conservatively and planned individually so that the face continues to look natural.
