MD Codes

MD Codes is a treatment concept for hyaluronic acid injections developed by the Brazilian plastic surgeon Mauricio de Maio. It divides the face into precisely defined injection points, each labelled with a code made up of letters and numbers.

Application

Rather than filling individual lines, MD Codes looks at the face as a whole. Supporting structures such as the cheeks, temples or chin are often treated first, which indirectly softens areas like the nasolabial fold. The aim is to reduce expressions such as tiredness, sadness or sternness and make the face look fresher. The approach is similar to a liquid facelift.

Good to know

MD Codes is not a product but a method, and the result depends heavily on the injector’s anatomical experience. One or more sessions may be needed depending on the starting point, and the effect usually lasts many months. Swelling and bruising are possible, and as with all fillers there are rare serious risks such as vascular occlusion.
