Why the HPV vaccination is more than just prevention

Human papillomaviruses (HPV) are among the most common sexually transmitted infections worldwide. Many infections go unnoticed – but certain types of HPV can cause genital warts or increase the risk of precancerous lesions and cancer.

The HPV vaccination is an effective and safe way to protect against these diseases. It can be used both as a preventative measure and to reduce the risk of recurrence in the case of existing genital warts.
