Mastopexy (breast lift)

Mast­opexy rai­ses a breast that has lost firm­ness, wit­hout signi­fi­cant­ly chan­ging its volu­me. Excess skin is remo­ved and the glan­du­lar tis­sue is repo­si­tio­ned, as is the nipp­le-areo­la complex.

Appli­ca­ti­on

The reason is usual­ly pregnan­cy, breast­fee­ding, signi­fi­cant weight loss or the natu­ral age­ing pro­cess. Depen­ding on the ext­ent of excess skin, dif­fe­rent incis­i­on pat­terns are pos­si­ble, from a scar around the areo­la to an anchor-shaped incision.

Good to know

A lift alo­ne does not make the breast lar­ger. Anyo­ne who also wants more volu­me needs a com­bi­na­ti­on with an implant or auto­log­ous fat. Scars fade over one to two years but remain visible.
