Fruit acid peel (AHA)

Fruit acids, known tech­ni­cal­ly as alpha hydro­xy acids, ori­gi­nal­ly come from fruit and milk. Gly­co­lic acid and man­de­lic acid are used most fre­quent­ly. They act super­fi­ci­al­ly and dis­sol­ve the bond bet­ween dead hor­ny cells.

Appli­ca­ti­on

They are used for ble­mis­hed skin, blo­cked pores, uneven com­ple­xi­on and ear­ly fine lines. A cour­se of four to six ses­si­ons two to four weeks apart is usu­al, with slow­ly incre­asing concentration.

Good to know

After the tre­at­ment the skin may be slight­ly red and fla­ke for a few days. Becau­se fruit acid acts super­fi­ci­al­ly, down­ti­me is short. Sun pro­tec­tion is a pre­re­qui­si­te throug­hout the who­le course.
