Frown line (glabellar line)

The frown line runs ver­ti­cal­ly bet­ween the eye­brows. It deve­lo­ps through repea­ted ten­sing of the mus­cles that draw the brows tog­e­ther. In medi­cal terms the regi­on is cal­led the glabella.

Appli­ca­ti­on

Becau­se this is purely a dyna­mic line, botu­li­num toxin is the tre­at­ment of choice. If the line is alre­a­dy etched in at rest, a small amount of hyalu­ro­nic acid can be added.

Good to know

The gla­bel­la is regard­ed as a deman­ding regi­on becau­se blood ves­sels con­nec­ted to the eye run through it. Injec­tions the­r­e­fo­re belong in expe­ri­en­ced medi­cal hands. A pro­no­un­ced frown line makes many peo­p­le look stern or tired wit­hout inten­ding to.
