The erbium-YAG laser works at 2,940 nanometres. This wavelength is absorbed by water even more strongly than with the CO2 laser, so removal is more precise and less heat reaches the surrounding tissue.
Application
It suits the targeted removal of superficial skin lesions such as seborrhoeic keratoses, fibromas or small irregularities, and the treatment of fine lines.
Good to know
Because less heat develops, the skin heals faster than after a CO2 treatment. In return the tightening effect is smaller, as less heat acts at depth.
