Cellulite

Cellulite describes the dimpled structure of the skin on the thighs, buttocks and hips. The cause lies in the structure of female connective tissue: the connective tissue septa run vertically, which allows lobules of fat to press outwards.

Application

Treatment approaches aim at tightening the connective tissue and reducing fat volume, for example with radiofrequency, shockwaves, microneedling or targeted injections. Mechanically dividing individual septa is another route.

Good to know

Cellulite is not a disease and also affects slim, athletic women. No procedure removes it permanently. A visible improvement of the skin’s appearance is realistic; complete smoothing is not. Sound advice says so openly.
