Breast augmentation with own fat

Breast augmentation with own fat involves taking fat from another part of the body, processing it and injecting it into the breast. The procedure requires no implant and is suited to a moderate increase in volume.

Application

Fat is first gently harvested by liposuction, for example from the abdomen, hips or thighs. After processing, it is distributed in many small portions across different tissue layers of the breast. The method suits women who want a natural result and have sufficient fat reserves. It is also used to correct minor asymmetries or to complement implants.

Good to know

Some of the transferred fat is reabsorbed by the body, so a second session is sometimes needed. An increase of much more than one cup size per procedure is rarely achievable. Fat that does not take can form oil cysts or calcifications that show up on mammograms. The procedure is one application of fat grafting.
