Brow lift (surgical)

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that permanently raises drooping eyebrows to a higher, natural position. This opens up the eye area and softens a tired or stern expression.

Application

Several techniques are available depending on the starting point: access through small incisions in the hair-bearing scalp, along the hairline or just above the brow. One option is the endoscopic forehead lift. The procedure is often combined with an upper eyelid lift if there is also excess skin on the eyelid.

Good to know

Swelling and bruising usually settle within one to two weeks. Possible risks include temporary numbness of the forehead, visible scars depending on the technique, or asymmetry. Non-surgical lifting with botulinum toxin or threads has a much weaker effect and lasts only a few months, whereas surgery is designed for the long term.
