Rhinoplasty (nose correction)

Rhinoplasty is the surgical reshaping of the nose. Cartilage, bone and soft tissue can be altered, for example in the case of a hump, a crooked nose or a broad tip.

Application

A distinction is made between the closed technique, in which all incisions lie inside the nose, and the open technique with an additional small incision on the columella. Where nasal breathing is improved at the same time, this is called functional rhinoplasty.

Good to know

The final result only appears after about a year, because swelling subsides slowly. Smaller irregularities can be evened out without surgery using hyaluronic acid, though only as a supplement and for a limited time.
