Eye rings removal Zurich

Dark or deep circles under the eyes evoke associations with nights spent awake or crying, stress and illness. Often they have a completely different cause. The most common reason is a loss of volume in the epidermis.

The thin skin around the eyes is particularly susceptible to a decrease in subcutaneous fat, collagen and moisture. Elasticity decreases, visible consequences are dark circles, wrinkles and more prominent bags under the eyes. Injecting dark circles under the eyes is a minimally invasive method.

What can I do about dark circles under my eyes?

There are countless home remedies that, if you believe the social media, are supposed to help with dark circles. From tea extracts and special creams to eye pads, masks and concealers. Such measures can help to some extent with very light dark circles - but not with pronounced dark circles due to a lack of volume. A proven and uncomplicated method here is injecting the dark circles. At the Swiss Derma Clinic we have experience in this area and can offer you an effective solution even for deep dark circles and bags under the eyes. The injections are minimally invasive and performed on an outpatient basis. The treatment itself takes no more than 30 minutes. High-quality hyaluronic acid is injected under the skin and gently distributed. The so-called tear trough can thus be effectively evened out and smoothed.

How can dark circles be injected?

When the fine connective tissue around the eyes slackens and sags, fat pads and bags under the eyes become more prominent. The skin under the eyes looks partly swollen, partly sunken - the unloved dark circles appear. We can correct this area discreetly with a special and well spreading hyaluronic acid. The filler (hyaluronic acid) ensures that the tear furrow is slightly lifted and visually lifted. At the same time, your skin is intensively moisturised. The result is a fresher and radiant eye area that has a rejuvenating effect on the entire face.

The treatment is painless, usually you will hardly feel anything from the punctures. If you wish, we can numb the area of skin to be treated with a light anaesthetic cream.

How long does it take to inject dark circles under the eyes?

The injection of the eye area usually takes no longer than 30 minutes. Often the session is already completed after ten minutes. Some patients additionally opt for wrinkle treatment in the area of the frown line (link), the cheeks (link) or the nasolabial folds (link). This is possible during the same session.

You will be fully socially fit again immediately after the injection. If minor bruising or swelling occurs, you can cover this with a light make-up.

How long does the treatment result last?

At the Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich, we work with the highest quality products currently available on the aesthetic medicine market. The tolerability, but also the durability is better than with most comparative methods. The results last around 7 months - in some cases considerably longer. How long the volume build-up lasts in individual cases also depends on the individual constitution, metabolism and skin condition. For example, the durability may be shorter for smokers or excessive athletes, as the filler is broken down more quickly by the body. In the case of very deep dark circles, it is possible that a touch-up may be necessary at an earlier stage. You can refresh the treatment at your convenience.

Is injecting the dark circles dangerous and should I expect side effects?

Injecting under-eye circles has been a tried and tested method for a long time. The filler used is similar to natural hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body. Allergies and intolerances are therefore rare, but as with all medical applications, they cannot be ruled out. At the Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich, we use various products that can be perfectly customised to achieve the desired result. Our fillers are free from additives and suitable for even the most sensitive skin.

Injections are carried out using the finest cannulas that are gentle on the tissue, so the skin is hardly irritated. Sometimes small bruises or slight swelling may occur in the treated area after the treatment. However, these are only temporary and disappear on their own after a few days. To prevent these undesirable side effects, you can gently cool the skin after the treatment without applying pressure. You should also refrain from sporting activities, sauna and solarium visits for a few days.

What to inject the dark circles with: botulinum toxin or Hyaluron?

To compensate for a lack of volume, which is usually the case with dark circles, we need a filler that integrates well into the skin and forms a stable moisture depot there. Hyaluronic acid is ideal for this purpose. The moisture-intensive gel is highly compatible and spreads well in the skin. Irregularities, edges and wrinkles can be corrected in this way.

If the treatment rather concerns the mimic wrinkles that appear as a result of eye squinting or laughing (crow's feet), then botulinum toxin can sometimes be the remedy of choice. The substance relaxes the fine muscles in the eye area and thus has a wrinkle-smoothing effect. Depending on the desired treatment results, a combination of hyaluron and botulinum toxin can make sense. We will discuss what is ideal for you in each individual case before the treatment. Since we use all common methods of wrinkle treatment at the Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich, we can offer you a treatment that is individually tailored to your needs.

How often should the treatment of dark circles be repeated?

Natural results are especially important to us. In some cases, we therefore perform the treatment in two steps. After about three weeks, the hyaluronic acid has "set". After that, optimisations are possible if desired. The treatment result lasts for several months, but you can refresh the volume at any time if you have the impression that dark circles are forming again. As the skin itself produces new collagen and elastin fibres after each injection, the treatment effect lasts longer from session to session.

Where can I have my dark circles injected?

Only have your dark circles injected in a specialist medical practice or clinic. Cosmetic institutes are not qualified for this. The success of the treatment depends above all on the expertise and experience of the practitioner. If this is high, then you can assume that the work will be of good quality and you can rely on a satisfactory treatment result. Our leading specialist, Mrs Georgouli, is an expert in the field of aesthetic medicine. She has many years of experience in wrinkle treatment and injecting facial contours and eye areas. The Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich is a centre of excellence with state-of-the-art technology in clinical dermatology and aesthetics. We will inform you in detail about the individual treatment steps in an individual consultation.

How much does it cost to inject dark circles under the eyes?

The treatment of dark circles is a so-called non-essential medical intervention. The expenses for the injections are therefore not covered by the health insurance companies. The costs can vary from case to case, as the amount of hyaluronic acid used also varies. They start at CHF 600. In any case, you will be informed about the costs before the session.
