Fractional laser therapy

In fractional treatment, the skin is not treated across the whole surface but in a grid of many microscopically small points. Untouched skin remains between the treated columns.

Application

This principle can be applied to ablative and non-ablative lasers and to radiofrequency. It is used for acne scars, sun damage, stretch marks and general skin renewal.

Good to know

The advantage lies in the healing: from the islands left intact, the skin regenerates considerably faster than after removal across a whole surface. This markedly reduces the risk of scarring and pigment changes.
