Exosomes

Exosomes are tiny vesicles with which cells exchange messenger substances. In aesthetic medicine, preparations containing such signalling substances are used with the aim of triggering repair processes in the skin.

Application

Exosomes are usually applied immediately after a treatment that briefly opens the skin barrier, such as microneedling or a laser treatment, so that the active substances penetrate more deeply. They are also applied to the scalp in cases of hair loss.

Good to know

Exosomes are a young field. Initial studies show favourable effects on redness, healing and complexion; long-term data are not yet available. Sound advice names this openly rather than promising miracles.
