Thread lift

In a thread lift, absorbable threads are placed under the skin to lift tissue that has descended. The threads carry small barbs or cones with which they grip the tissue and hold it in the desired position.

Application

The cheeks, jawline and neck are treated above all. Alongside the immediate lifting effect, the threads stimulate the formation of new collagen over months, so that the tissue structure firms up as well.

Good to know

The threads are usually made of polydioxanone or lactic acid polymers and are broken down within six to twelve months. Depending on the starting point the result lasts one to two years. A thread lift does not replace a surgical facelift, but involves considerably less downtime.
