Hand rejuvenation in Zurich (Löwenstrasse)

Effectively treating volume loss, pigment spots and thinner skin

The hands are where skin ageing shows first. Our hands are exposed to UV light, cold, water, cleaning agents and mechanical strain – every day. On top of that, the subcutaneous fatty tissue decreases, the skin becomes thinner and tendons and veins become more prominent. Often there are also pigment spots.

Effective hand rejuvenation happens on two levels: building volume and improving skin quality. Our methods at the Swiss Derma Clinic: autologous fat, hyaluronic acid, exosomes, skin boosters, biostimulators, laser or light-based procedures.

Why hands age faster

The skin on the back of the hand is thin and heavily used. Sunlight, water, cold and cleaning agents leave their marks. The skin loses elasticity and tends to dryness. With increasing age the back of the hand looks bonier, especially in slim people.

Our treatments in Zurich

Building volume with autologous fat or hyaluronic acid

  • Hyaluronic fillers gently plump the back of the hand, so tendons and veins appear less dominant
  • Autologous fat is suitable for natural-looking volume build-up with good durability

Improving skin quality with skin boosters and biostimulation

  • Skin boosters such as Profhilo improve elasticity and firmness
  • Polynucleotides and exosomes are used to regenerate the skin
  • Radiesse supports collagen formation

Laser treatment of the hands

We use laser treatment, for example, for pigment spots or other sun damage. Before every treatment, the dermatological examination is important.

Effective combinations for hand rejuvenation

Hands age through volume loss, pigment shifts and loss of elasticity at the same time.

  • Hyaluronic acid or autologous fat compensate for visible tendons and veins
  • Laser and light therapies improve pigment spots and sun damage
  • Skin boosters and biostimulating procedures strengthen the skin structure and firmness
  • Combinations promote a more natural overall appearance and improve durability

After the treatment, sun protection is decisive

Good sun protection preserves the result and protects the skin. After laser or peelings, direct sun should be consistently avoided – including when driving or on short outdoor errands.

Directly after the treatment, mild swelling, small bruises or pressure sensitivity may occur. Redness, crusting or a temporary darkening are possible with laser treatments. These effects are normal and usually disappear on their own within a few days.

FAQ

Handverjüngung in Zürich

Which treatment is suitable for visible veins and tendons on the hands?

If the back of the hand has lost volume and veins and tendons show through, we can treat with hyaluronic filler or autologous fat. Both treatments plump up the back of the hand.

What helps against pigment spots on the hands?

Pigment spots are usually the result of years of UV exposure. Depending on the findings, laser treatments, light-based procedures or peelings may be an option. Pigment changes should be assessed dermatologically before any treatment.

How long does a hand rejuvenation last?

How long hand rejuvenation lasts depends on the method. Hyaluronic acid breaks down over time and needs to be refreshed. Autologous fat can partly be preserved long term. Procedures to improve skin quality often require several sessions and occasional refreshers, especially with continued UV exposure. We would be happy to advise you on this at the Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich.

Can hands be treated with autologous fat?

During lipofilling we take the body’s own fat, prepare it in our practice and introduce it into the skin on the back of the hand. The volume build-up is very natural. Part of the transplanted fat is broken down again by the body; the remaining portion can be preserved permanently.

What are skin boosters and biostimulators?

Skin boosters primarily improve the moisture and elasticity of the skin. Biostimulators such as Radiesse, exosomes or polynucleotides additionally support collagen formation and strengthen the skin structure.

When am I presentable again after a hand rejuvenation?

After injections, mild irritation may occur temporarily. After laser or light-based procedures, the skin may be temporarily reddened or sensitive. There is no downtime.

How important is sun protection after the treatment?

UV protection is very important. After laser, light or peelings, the skin reacts more sensitively to the sun. Consistent sun protection helps to stabilise the result in the long term.

Our Q&A texts are by no means a substitute for a medical consultation. For an individual and well-founded medical assessment, we recommend a personal consultation at the Swiss Derma Clinic. We are happy to take the time for you!
