How CRISTAL Fit® Works
CRISTAL Fit® generates a high-intensity electromagnetic field. This magnetic field stimulates our muscle nerves, leading to so-called supramaximal contractions—significantly stronger than voluntary muscle movements during exercise. For example, in a single 14 to 40-minute session (depending on the treatment protocol), you can passively simulate up to 500 workout repetitions.

Scientific Basis of HI-EMSS
The foundation of high-intensity electromagnetic muscle stimulation (HI-EMSS) is electromagnetic induction. A pulsed magnetic field penetrates the body and interacts with motor neurons, the nerves responsible for muscle contraction. The intensified muscle work (contraction) leads to an increase in muscle volume (hypertrophy) and the number of muscle fibers (hyperplasia) in a short time. Similar to the effects of intense exercise—but faster, joint-friendly, and without physical exertion.
Fat Reduction Through Muscle Stimulation
Intense muscle contractions increase energy demand. You may recognize this from sports or long hikes. To meet this demand, the body breaks down surrounding fat tissue. Studies have shown that EMMS can effectively support the reduction of fat deposits.
Treatment Process
- We discuss your goals and problem areas with you.
- During the treatment, you lie comfortably on a bed while we position the CRISTAL Fit® applicators on the target areas.
- The subsequent electromagnetic pulses cause intense but pain-free muscle contractions. The treatment is so comfortable that you can read a book, listen to music, or even fall asleep.
- After the session, you can resume your normal activities without downtime.
Our Recommendation: A minimum of 4 to 6 treatments, once or twice a week. Initial results are typically visible after just a few sessions—usually within two to four weeks. The results are generally long-lasting, but we recommend targeted training of the newly acquired muscles. We provide tips during your consultation at the Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich.
Safety and Side Effects
CRISTAL Fit® is a well-tolerated and tested procedure. However, there are a few contraindications, such as certain neurological or inflammatory conditions. We will discuss these with you individually during your appointment in Zurich. Mild muscle soreness may occur after each session, which is a sign of effectiveness and is generally well-tolerated.
