Anal eczema

Anal ecze­ma is an inflamm­a­ti­on of the skin around the anal ope­ning and often cau­ses seve­re, ago­ni­zing itching. It is often not an inde­pen­dent dise­a­se, but the result of other trig­gers such as all­er­gies, neu­ro­der­ma­ti­tis or a dama­ged skin bar­ri­er. Exces­si­ve hygie­ne (e.g. wet toi­let paper) can also irri­ta­te the skin. In the event of blee­ding, seve­re pain or per­sis­tent sym­ptoms, a medi­cal exami­na­ti­on is advi­sa­ble in order to tre­at the cau­ses in a tar­ge­ted manner.
