Renophase in Zurich

Medical skincare with LED-activated ingredients

Renophase is a medical-grade skincare and treatment system with a scientific foundation. It combines stimulating red-light therapy (LED), specialised active ingredients, and clinically supported treatment protocols.

The core idea: Biomimetic molecules help the skin cells absorb active ingredients at higher concentrations. These are then activated by red light to reduce inflammation, stimulate cell renewal and rejuvenation, and support overall skin function. The effects have been demonstrated in multiple studies. Renophase is suitable for almost all skin types.

Photobiomodulation at Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich

Renophase works through photobiomodulation. What does that mean? The near-infrared light used in light therapy is absorbed by skin cells. This boosts repair processes, increases the skin’s microcirculation, and enhances ATP production within the cells.

What makes Renophase treatments different

Activation with red light

Your skin is illuminated with near-infrared/red light. This light encourages cells to produce more energy and renew themselves from within. At the same time, the active ingredients can unfold their full effect.

A dual approach

The combination of biomimetic actives and red light can visibly improve the complexion. Skin becomes stronger, more even, and more resilient.

Which skin concerns do we treat with Renophase?

We treat you in our Zurich practice using validated protocols tailored to your current skin condition. Examples include:

  • Pigmentation and melasma: for a more even complexion.

  • Acne: calms inflammation, clears the skin, and refines texture.

  • Rosacea and sensitive skin: reduces redness and inflammation and strengthens the skin barrier.

  • Well-Aging (younger skin): maintenance care to help prevent early signs of ageing.

  • Anti-Aging (mature skin): improves firmness, softens lines, and supports rejuvenation.

Your treatment in Zurich

A course of sessions

We recommend at least 4 sessions, spaced a few weeks apart—typically around 3 weeks. Afterwards, longer intervals are usually sufficient for maintenance. The exact schedule depends on your skin and will be discussed with you at our clinic in Zurich.

In-clinic steps

Cleansing, infusion of active ingredients, LED/red-light exposure, and additional skincare steps. Each session lasts 30–60 minutes.

Combination options

Depending on your skin, we can combine Renophase with microneedling, IPL, or laser.

How does red-light therapy work?

Red light provides an energy boost for skin cells by acting on the cells’ “powerhouses,” the mitochondria. They produce more ATP—and thus more energy. As a result, skin cells can:

  • Repair micro-damage more quickly

  • Produce more collagen and elastin

  • Regulate inflammation

  • Improve skin microcirculation

In short: red light gives your skin more energy for regeneration and rejuvenation.

Home care: the 4-step system

Renophase includes a home-care routine between in-clinic treatments with four steps:

  1. Gentle cleanse: prepare the skin.

  2. Activation: mild peels and active ingredients.

  3. Regeneration: strengthen and protect the skin.

  4. Targeted care: specialised products for lines, pigmentation, or sensitive areas.

Renophase – FAQ

FAQ

Renophase – FAQ

What does increased ATP production in the skin do?

Think of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) as the cell’s energy currency. Every cellular function—from building new proteins to repairing damage—requires ATP. When skin cells are stimulated by LED photobiomodulation to make more ATP, it means:

  • More energy for repair: micro-damage can be corrected faster.

  • Improved collagen production: connective-tissue cells can produce new collagen and elastin—the basis for firm skin.

  • Anti-inflammatory effects: helpful in conditions such as acne or rosacea.

  • Better circulation: improved supply of nutrients and oxygen.

In short: more ATP = more “fuel” for healthy skin processes.

Which skin problems can be treated with Renophase?

Renophase is an innovative, science-based medical skincare system suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. For home care and in-clinic treatment, five programmes are available:

  • Pigmentation and melasma

  • Acne and blemish-prone skin

  • Rosacea, couperose, and sensitive skin

  • Well-Aging: prevention for younger skin

  • Anti-Aging: targeted care for mature skin

Why is Renophase combined with red-light therapy?

Renophase uses biomimetic actives that are absorbed in high concentrations by skin cells and can be activated by red light. The benefits include strengthening skin function, rebuilding the skin barrier, and stimulating renewal. Because these actives support natural skin processes without disrupting balance, the treatment is also suitable for sensitive skin, acne, or barrier disorders such as rosacea.

Can I go back to work or go out after a Renophase session in Zurich?

Yes. Both the home-care programme and the in-clinic treatment are gentle and suited to everyday life. There is no downtime—you can return to work, meet friends, or apply make-up straight away.

Is Renophase scientifically supported?

Renophase was developed in France and is based on scientific research into skin renewal and the interaction between skincare actives and red light. The treatment protocols have been dermatologically tested. Positive effects are well documented for concerns such as blemish-prone skin, acne, and skin ageing.

Our Q&A texts are by no means a substitute for a medical consultation. For an individual and well-founded medical assessment, we recommend a personal consultation at the Swiss Derma Clinic. We are happy to take the time for you!
