Treatment Process: Lip Laser in Zurich

We begin with a brief local anesthesia of the lips. The anesthetic cream should be applied about 30 minutes before the treatment so that you barely feel your lips – aside from a tolerable burning and tingling sensation during the treatment of the inner lip area. The inner areas, the central part, the outer areas, and the lip contour are all treated.

 

During the session, our specialist physicians gently glide the laser device over your lips. This specific setting triggers an immediate tissue response, stimulating collagen production so that the lips gradually become fuller and more defined. With an additional handpiece, we can also treat the skin around the mouth – for instance, to smooth out lip wrinkles.

 

If an even more intense collagen boost is desired, we can, through special settings, target deeper layers of tissue. A lip laser session lasts approximately 20 minutes and is virtually painless.

Yes. Our lip laser (Alma Harmony) specifically activates the body’s own collagen production in the lips. The mechanism of action is similar to that of LipLase (which uses the Fotona laser), and the lip-enhancing effects are identical with both systems. Laser treatment of the lip tissue leads to an increase in volume – enhancing the lips from within. The structural protein collagen further improves tissue quality, making the lips appear smoother and more contoured even without additional treatment. This is a clear advantage over pure filler treatments.

How does the lip laser (BioBoost) differ from LipLase?

The difference lies in the laser system used. The treatment using the Fotona laser is known as LipLase. At Swiss Derma Clinic in Zurich, we perform the same treatment using the Alma Harmony. We have chosen this powerful laser system because its effects are even more individualized and comprehensive than those of the so-called LipLase. Additionally, we can treat hyperpigmentation or small veins around the mouth using additional handpieces from the same system. Why is there no risk of overcorrection with the lip laser?

Unlike filler treatments, where hyaluronic acid is injected, the lip laser merely stimulates the skin’s natural regeneration processes. The increase in volume occurs gradually and can be individually controlled, eliminating the risk of unnatural lip shapes (often referred to as “duck lips”).

What is the healing process like after a lip laser session?

  • Ensuring adequate hydration of the lips (please ask us for a suitable lip care product)
  • Avoiding extreme temperatures such as saunas or sunbathing for approximately two days
