…and how we are already implementing them at the Swiss Derma Clinic today
This year in Paris, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) once again demonstrated how rapidly dermatology is developing. As a dermatologist, surgeon, trainer and medical director of the Swiss Derma Clinic, I was able to take part in this internationally important congress and bring the latest scientific findings to Zurich for our patients.
Here are a few highlights from a thematically rich, diverse and scientifically impressive congress:
1 Vision 2035: On the way to curing psoriasis
One of the most impressive moments was the presentation by Professor Christopher Griffiths: the so-called „Mars Shot“ – the scientific vision of achieving a cure for psoriasis by 2035.
What sounds like science fiction today is actually based on real clinical developments:
- highly individualized immunotherapies
– genetic modulation of immune cells
– in-depth understanding of the skin barrier and cellular stress responses
For the Swiss Derma Clinic, this means that we continue to focus on biological correlations, follow the latest immunology standards and always advise our patients based on the latest evidence.
2 CAR‑T cell therapy: precision medicine for autoimmune diseases
Another milestone was the presentation of new data on CD19 CAR‑T cell therapy, a procedure that originated in oncology and is now being model-evaluated for severe immune-mediated dermatosis.
Research shows:
- Targeted elimination of pathogenic immune cell lines
- Long-term remissions
- New possibilities for therapy-refractory diseases
While CAR‑T is not yet a dermatological standard, we are monitoring these developments very closely. At the Swiss Derma Clinic, we are already focusing on personalized therapy strategies.
3. mind-skin connection: how psychological stress affects the skin immune system
Another key topic in Paris was the mind-skin connection. New research data shows the extent to which psychological stress alters the cutaneous immune system – particularly in:
- Psoriasis
- atopic dermatitis (neurodermatitis)
- chronic eczema
This has direct therapeutic consequences:
- Combination of immune modulation and stress management
- Holistic approach for skin and nervous system
- Individualized treatment according to stress and inflammation profile
At the Swiss Derma Clinic, we are already integrating this approach into our treatment strategy.
4 What does this mean in concrete terms for our patients?
The Swiss Derma Clinic sees itself as a high-end clinic for modern dermatology, dermatosurgery and medical aesthetics. Our participation in international congresses such as the EADV ensures that:
- we implement new scientific findings at an early stage
- our diagnostic and therapeutic standards remain internationally leading
- we use state-of-the-art technologies and evidence-based procedures responsibly
- Patients have access to the most effective and safest therapies
For us, innovation is not a marketing buzzword but part of everyday clinical practice.
5 Conclusion: Scientific excellence in Paris – implemented in Zurich
Developments in dermatology are dynamic, visionary and full of new possibilities. EADV 2025 has shown once again: The future of our specialty is precise, personalized and interdisciplinary.
For the Swiss Derma Clinic this means:
We bring the future of dermatology directly into our everyday practice in a scientifically sound, humane and always for the benefit of our patients.
